Starting fall 2025 and in exceptional situations, students in either the online or on campus modalities of the BNI program may request to transfer their program modality. The following rules apply:
- A student will be allowed only one transfer throughout their studies
- The transfer can only be requested in the first year of the program (Fall or Winter semester)
- The transfer will apply to the courses in the semester following the request (i.e., courses may not be switched during the semester)
- The transfer request will be subject to the approval by the Program Director, the availability of seats in the desired modality, and the availability of clinical placements
Before submitting a request, we strongly encourage students to review the fee implications of transferring modalities as the tuition rates vary significantly, depending on where you reside during your studies:

The latest deadline date to request a change in modality is the add/drop deadline date of your first winter term. To submit the request, please send a detailed email outlining the reason for the rationale for the transfer to: undergraduate.nursing [at] mcgill.ca
Each request will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
