Tick season returns each spring, bringing a renewed risk of Lyme disease. In Quebec, the number of reported cases has been rising in recent years.

Virginie Millien is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biology at 91社区 and Curator of Zoology at the Redpath Museum. She studies how climate and environmental change influence the geographic range and evolution of mammals, which serve as hosts for ticks, and can speak to the role of warming temperatures and habitat shifts in enabling ticks and the Lyme bacterium to expand into new regions.
