Registration is required by emailing tised [at] mcgill.ca. \n\n \n\nB IOGRAPHY\n\nDr. Janice Paslawski\, Ph.D.\, P.Eng.\, has over 25 years of e xperience in conducting and managing environmental specialists in the deli very of protective risk management strategies for complex impacted sites. \n\nAt SNC-Lavalin\, she directs a National team specialized in the develo pment and implementation of risk-based environmental management plans for a variety of impacted sites. This team works closely with the environmenta l site assessment and impact assessment teams on programs for many of our key clients. She has served as Technical Support Specialist for several hi gh profile spill responses in BC (jet fuel and a major metals mine dam bre aches). She has worked on spills in Saskatchewan as well as regulatory com pliance requests for facility impacts associated with operations (petroleu m and brine). In the case of spill response and impacted sites and regulat ory compliance issues\, she has served SNC-Lavalin in developing risk comm unication plans to multiple stakeholders including regulators and aborigin al lands owners by coming up with practical science based solutions to mee t regulatory acceptable limits. She leads multidisciplinary teams in the d evelopment of quantitative risk assessment approaches for the evaluation o f contaminants of concern with respect to human and ecological health risk . She has also developed risk management tools for multiple-site portfolio s. She has been instrumental in the regulatory guidelines in Canada beginn ing with Alberta\, CCME and Saskatchewan’s Environmental Code. She represe nts SNC-Lavalin with Educational Institutions supporting emerging contamin ant research (University of 91ÉçÇř and University of Saskatchewan). Dr. Pa slawski is registered as a QPRA in Saskatchewan since 2015 and in Newfound land and Labrador since 2014.\n\n \n\nThe seminar will be held September 1 2th at 4pm to 5pm\, and the Discussion Session for Graduate Students will follow from 5:00pm to 5:40pm.
