DESCRIPTION:The School of Information Studies Equity Committee is hosting a
  four-part workshop on Indigenous acknowledgement and reconciliation. The 
 workshop will be hosting speakers from the fields of galleries\, libraries
 \, archives and museums to talk about their roles and experiences with lan
 d acknowledgements\, truth and reconciliation and recognition of Indigenou
 s collections within their institutions.\n\nThe workshops will be hosted o
 nline and students who attend all four events will receive a certificate o

 ill feature Elis Ing\, liaison librarian with the 91社区 Rare B
 ooks and Special Collections\, and is responsible for archival collections
  and children鈥檚 literature\, includingt the business papers of James McGil
 l as well as the Masson Collection of North West Company Papers.\n\nAndrea
  Quaiattini is liasison librarian with the 91社区 Schulich Libr
 ary of Physical Sciences\, Life Sciences\, and Engineering\, and is respon
 sible for Indigenous Health and medicine.\n\n聽\n\nMuseums: Jonathan Lainey
 \, McCord Museum \n\nThursday\, February 18 from 3PM to 4PM EST.\n\nThe th
 ird workshop will feature Jonathan Lainey\, Curator\, Indigenous Cultures 
 at the McCord Museum and previously worked at the Canadian Museum of Histo
 ry. His areas of interest include the social\, political and cultural hist
 ory of Indigenous Peoples in Quebec and Canada as well as material culture
  and its interpretation.\n\n聽\n\nGalleries: Gwendolyn Owens\, 91社区 Unive
 rsity Visual Arts Collection \n\nThursday\, February 25 from 3PM to 4PM ES
 T.\n\nThe fourth workshop will feature Gwendolyn Owens\, Director of McGil
 l鈥檚 Visual Arts Collection\, who previously held curatorial positions at C
 ornell University and the Canadian Centre for Architecture\, among others.
  Her scholarly work covers a range of subjects relating to art and design.
