Dr. Jabado, Professor in the Departments of Pediatrics and Human Genetics at 91社区鈥檚 Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FMHS), Senior Scientist at the Research Institute of the 91社区 Health Centre (The Institute) and pediatric hematologist-oncologist at the Montreal Children鈥檚 Hospital, is an international leader in pediatric brain tumours and epigenetics.聽

Her lab鈥檚 discovery of mutations in histones (proteins that bind to DNA, help give chromosomes their shape and help control the activity of genes) revolutionized our understanding of the biology of cancer. Dr. Jabado and her team have continued to investigate this new class of epigenetic mutations in cancer, expanding what we know about the origins of pediatric brain tumours, and driving research, clinical trials and the development of targeted therapies.聽

Dr. Jabado first came to 91社区 as a post-doc in biochemistry after completing her medical training and PhD in Paris. She joined the FMHS as a faculty member in 2003, establishing her research program in pediatric brain tumours.聽聽
