In fact\, more people die from lung cancer th an breast\, colon and prostate cancer combined. Approximately two thirds o f patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC – accounts for 85% of al l lung cancers) will present with surgically unresectable disease and thos e with “curable” disease frequently go on to develop loco-regional and/or distant metastasis\, the result of which ultimately leads to death. Immuno therapy has shown great promise with improved outcomes and prolonged survi val in a wide variety of cancers\, including NSCLC. However\, there is roo m for improvement as objective response rates are ~20-50%\, depending on p atient selection criteria and therapeutic combinations. Currently\, approx imately 60% of all NSCLC patients treated with immunotherapy will fail to respond and an even larger proportion will fail to respond to systemic che motherapy. The need for improved systemic therapies for this disease is un mistakable and our lab uses both computational and traditional wet lab app roaches to identify and validate novel regulators of cancer progression. \n DTSTART:20191025T150000Z DTEND:20191025T160000Z LOCATION:Room 1034\, McIntyre Medical Building\, CA\, QC\, Montreal\, H3G 1 Y6\, 3655 promenade Sir William Osler SUMMARY:Seminar: Integrated approaches to uncover regulators of cancer prog ression URL:/physiology/channels/event/seminar-integrated-appr oaches-uncover-regulators-cancer-progression-301099 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
