 t do our brains and starling murmurations have in common? What happens to 
 the brain's electrophysiological properties under anesthesia? How are larg
 e-scale brain dynamics modified by caffeine? How does meditation change ne
 ural complexity? Are the brains of people who remember their dreams differ
 ent from the brains of those who don't? What does the phenomenon of pareid
 olia tell us about human creativity and its neural underpinnings? More imp
 ortantly\, how am I going to pack all of this into one talk? I will attemp
 t to do this by providing an overview of recent research from our lab wher
 e we combine human electrophysiology (MEG and EEG)\, with advanced signal 
 processing\, complexity science and machine learning to explore the distri
 buted neural dynamics underlying a variety of cognitive states and levels 
 of consciousness.\n\n\nThe Feindel Brain and Mind Seminar Series will adva
 nce the vision of Dr. William Feindel (1918–2014)\, Former Director of the
  Neuro (1972–1984)\, to constantly bridge the clinical and research realms
 . The talks will highlight the latest advances and discoveries in neuropsy
 chology\, cognitive neuroscience\, and neuroimaging.\n\nSpeakers will incl
 ude scientists from across The Neuro\, as well as colleagues and collabora
 tors locally and from around the world. The series is intended to provide 
 a virtual forum for scientists and trainees to continue to foster interdis
 ciplinary exchanges on the mechanisms\, diagnosis and treatment of brain a
 nd cognitive disorders.\n\n \n
