 his talk will focus on the physics of static sea-level changes\, glacial i
 sostatic adjustment and solid Earth deformation following variations in th
 e distribution of grounded ice\, and the influence of these changes on the
  stability and dynamics of marine ice sheets. Following a review of ice sh
 eet - sea level - solid earth interactions using simplified modeling\, rec
 ent results will be presented using a more realistic 3-D ice sheet - shelf
  model coupled to a gravitationally self-consistent global sea-level model
  that includes viscoelastic deformation of the Earth. This coupled model w
 ill be applied to simulate the evolution of the Antarctic Ice Sheet throug
 h the last deglaciation and into the future.\n
