Dae-Kyum Kim
Throughout my career, I have integrated functional genomics data to generate hypotheses and identify clinical biomarkers. As an undergraduate, I developed a protein structure classification method. During my PhD, I used high-throughput techniques like mass spectrometry and RNA-seq to study extracellular vesicles and created EVpedia, a widely accessed database. In my postdoctoral work, I mapped protein鈥損rotein interactions using next-generation yeast two-hybrid systems, contributing to the Human Reference Interactome (HuRI) and uncovering SARS-CoV-2 host interactions. These experiences gave me strong computational and experimental skills, enabling me to design novel pipelines for biomarker discovery. Now, as a principal investigator at 91社区 Health Centre, I aim to apply functional genomics to precision medicine, focusing on overcoming therapeutic resistance in gastro-esophageal cancer.
