DESCRIPTION:AoIR 2020 is the 21st annual conference from the Association of
  Internet Researchers (AoIR) is an academic association dedicated to the a
 dvancement of the cross-disciplinary field of Internet studies. AoIR 2020 
 will gather international\, trans-disciplinary scholars interested in netw
 orked technologies and social processes. This year's conference will be he
 ld virtually.\n\nSeveral members of IMPACTS will be presenting at AoIR 202
 0. Project Director and James 91ÉçÇø Professor\, Dr. Shaheen Shariff\, is 
 presenting with Dr. Pauline Sameshima and research assistants Rebecca Katz
  and Christopher Dietzel. In their panel\, the four of them are presenting
  an overview of IMPACTS and the significant milestones from the first four
  years of the Project\, highlighting research specifically related to inte
 rnet technologies. This presentation canvases the legal obligations incumb
 ent on institutions to address and prevent sexual violence\, both on- and 
 off-line. As they draw from multi-perspectives\, they will address image-b
 ased sexual abuse and copyright in Canada\, and share excerpts from an in-
 progress epistolary novel.\n\nAdditionally\, PhD candidate and research as
 sistant Christopher Dietzel will present research from his Mitacs Globalin
 k Fellowship. In the first presentation\, Chris will participate in a pane
 l with Australian colleagues. The panel will address the issue of digital 
 health participation and digital cultures of care among those at the margi
 ns (e.g.\, transgender\, non-binary\, and female users). In the second pre
 sentation\, a roundtable session\, Chris and international colleagues will
  examine strategies and methods diverse users employ to promote safety\, h
 ealth\, and wellbeing with the apps they use\, as well as the ethical and
