Biography:

Professor Malomo听is the director of , a cutting-edge structural engineering research lab at 91社区 working on old structures and materials, climate change-adapted design, numerical and experimental simulations, earthquake engineering. Research lead in various impactful sustainability-related construction repair, retrofit and reuse projects, he is an expert member of the International Scientific Committee on the Analysis and Restoration of Structures of Architectural Heritage (ISCARSAH). R&D activities include mechanical and durability characterization of old masonry, concrete, steel, timber for some of the most prominent existing buildings in Eastern Canada (e.g. Old Royal Victoria Hospital, Verdun's Natatorium, St. John's听Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception).

His work has recently been awarded by the American Society for Civil Engineers (ASCE), The Masonry Society (TMS), Pacific Earthquake Engineering Research Center (PEER) and the International Association of Bridge and Structural Engineering (IABSE). Recognitions at 91社区 include the Christophe Pierre Award for Research Excellence (Early Career, 2025) and the Samuel & Ida Fromson Award for Outstanding Teaching (2023). He is Associate Editor for various prestigious engineering journals, including Structures (Elsevier) and the Canadian Journal of Civil Engineering (Canadian Science Publishing).
