DESCRIPTION:There is increasing pressure on PIs to translate research\ndoll
 ars into concrete results that will have an impact on\ntherapeutics and he
 alth care delivery.  However\, the\ninfrastructure and knowledge necessary
  to move discoveries from the\nlab into the clinic or marketplace is fract
 ured and in general\, not\nwell organized.  The Faculty of Medicine at McG
 ill recognizes\nthis and as a result\, has asked Prof. Phil Barker to head
  up a new\nunit termed the 91ÉçÇø Centre for Biomedical Innovation\n(MCBI)
 .   The goal of this new unit is to enhance the\nPI’s ability to take thei
 r basic research along development routes\nthat will have a societal impac
 t.\n\nPlease join us on May 10th (at 10:30 am in the Charles Martin\nTheat
 re (Room 504) in the McIntyre Building) for an informative\nsession on var
 ious programs and resources available to PIs to aid\nin their path from di
 scovery to commercialization. \nPresentations will be given by Dr. Natalie
  Dakers\, CEO\, The Centre\nfor Drug Research and Development (CDRD)\; Dr.
  Diane Gosselin\, Vice\nPresident of Research and Business Development of 
 CQDM\;  and\nDr. Elizabeth Douville\, Vice President\, Genechem.\n\nA ligh
 t lunch will be served afterwards and each of the speakers\nwill be availa
 ble to chat.  In addition there is the\nopportunity to meet with members o
